No Dem Left Behind Announces Two New Endorsements: Cindy Banyai and Ike McCorkle
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
June 17, 2021
WASHINGTON, DC — No Dem Left Behind PAC is proud to announce two new endorsements: Dr. Cindy Banyai to represent Florida’s 19th congressional district in Congress and veteran Ike McCorkle for Colorado’s 4th congressional district.
Banyai and McCorkle both ran in 2020. And while they didn’t succeed in flipping their districts, they are playing the long game and will build on the groundwork they’ve laid — which is guaranteed to lead them to victory in 2022.
“Congressional races often span over a period of multiple cycles. It takes a lot to convince a district that you are the person best suited to represent them in Washington, says Hassan Martini, executive director and founder of No Dem Left Behind. “Both Ike and Cindy have built infrastructures on the ground to mobilize a strong volunteer force and have positioned themselves to win in 2022. Our goal at No Dem Left Behind is to use our resources to help get them across the finish line.”
Dr. Banyai has dedicated her career to elevating the voices of everyday Americans — voices that desperately need to be heard in Washington. Similarly, after serving in the Marines, Ike McCorkle is shifting his service to country by ensuring that the voices of all Americans are heard in Congress, not just the elite. No Dem Left Behind enthusiastically supports sending more servant leaders like Banyai and McCorkle to represent their districts in Congress.
“Ike McCorkle is a combat vet who has chewed the same dirt I have in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. He understands service, knows what real leadership is, and will put the needs of his constituents above his own — because that’s what leaders do. I’m ecstatic to endorse this combat-experienced Marine,“ says No Dem Left Behind national spokesperson and former West Virginia state senator, Richard Ojeda.
Ojeda is equally enthusiastic about Dr. Banyai: “I was proud to endorse Cindy Banyai in her previous race and I am excited to endorse her again. She is extremely intelligent…She holds a doctorate, and she cares very deeply about the people in her community — She goes out of her way to make sure she is available and accessible to everyone in her district. She is what it takes to flip a red seat blue!“
Other No Dem Left Behind 2022 endorsed candidates include Tim Ryan from Ohio and Val Demings of Florida, both running for U.S. Senate, and Marcus Flowers for Georgia’s 14th congressional district. No Dem Left Behind endorsed candidates are the ones who will ensure Democrats expand their majority in Congress in 2022.
