No Dem Left Behind Endorses Laura Jones for U.S. Congress
WASHINGTON D.C. — No Dem Left Behind is proud to announce its endorsement of Laura Jones for U.S. Congress. Laura is the candidate with the best chance to supplant the decades of GOP influence over Texas’ 8th Congressional District.
As a native Texan from Houston who relocated to Coldspring, Laura is uniquely qualified to understand the problems facing the state. Laura serves on the Board of Directors for Coldspring’s water company and local community center, and represents East Texas on the Steering Committee for Our Revolution. She is a member of the local school district’s Educational Improvement Committee, the Montgomery Chapters of the NAACP and the Coalition of Black Democrats.

Jones is running for an open seat, and she’s campaigning on issues that impact her community while GOP candidates compete among each other to see who can go farther and farther right. This has resulted in their failure to provide adequate legislation for rural Texans. Over half of District 8 includes rural areas where communities lack access to high-speed internet, quality affordable healthcare and resources for education. Industry has stagnated and areas are left with little to no jobs.
